Mutual Aid call to Old Tappan |

On Tuesday morning the Old Tappan Fire Department requested the WFD to respond as a F.A.S.T. team to the scene of a working house fire at 12 Deberg Drive. Rescue 17 arrived and it's crew was then instructed to go to work. Westwood firefighters assisted the OTFD along with firefighters from River Vale, Hillsdale, and Park Ridge. The cause of the fire appears to be from a washing machine in the basement. Click here for the Bergen Record article. |

 The winner of the WFD's 10th Annual Harley Raffle is Robert Pontillo of Westwood. He is now the proud new owner of a 2008 Harley Davidson 105th Anniversary Edition Fat Boy. The second place prize, a $500 gift certificate to O'Toole's Harley-Davidson in Wurtsboro, NY, went to James Wexler of Westwood. The winning tickets were drawn outside Fire Headquarters on Sunday afternoon. The WFD would like to thank all who participated in this year's raffle. Photos: (Top right) The winning ticket is picked. 8th Annual "Fall Clasic" Golf Outing & Dinner Bash |

The WFD proudly presents our 8th Annual "Fall Classic" Golf Outing and Dinner Bash to be held on Monday, October 20th, 2008. The proceeds of this Year’s Outing will benefit the family of 6 year old Kevin Kearney, son of WFD Volunteer and FDNY Captain Pete Kearney. Kevin is suffering from Muscular Dystrophy and the family needs to retro-fit the home to accommodate his needs. All funds we raise will go towards off-setting these costs and helping to make Kevin’s life a little better. |
