8th Annual harley davidson raffle

6/30/06 - The Westwood Volunteer Fire Department is holding it's 8th Annual Harley Raffle. First prize is a 2006 Black Cherry "Street Glide." Second prize is a $500 gift certificate to O'Toole's Harley-Davidson in Wurtsboro, NY. There will be a $20 donation per ticket and only 2,500 tickets will be sold. The drawing will be held on October 15, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Westwood Fire Headquarters - 93 Center Ave. For information and tickets call 201-664-0526 and leave a message. Also, look for department members selling tickets at the intersection of Westwood Ave. and Broadway throughout the summer.

Extrication on Washington ave.

6/28/06 - Units were dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Washington Ave. near Stuben Ave. for a battery disconnect. While en route, Engine 16 was informed by Chief Domville (15-1) that there was a victim trapped and the removal of the driver's side door was needed. Engine 16's crew removed the driver's door and post to allow medical crews to safely transport the victim. Units on scene: Engine 16, Engine 12.

New firehouse celebration

6/3/06 - The Westwood Fire Department would like to invite all residents to a celebration of the new firehouse on Saturday June 10th. The event will be held at WFD headquarters (93 Center Ave.) and will start at 2 p.m. and end at 4 p.m. There will be food, games, and bucket rides in the tower ladder. Hope to see you there!
