Memorial Day Services

5/29/06 - Department members gathered this Memorial Day to honor past members. The WFD marched from fire headquarters to Fireman's Park where the ceremony was held. Shortly after the ceremony the department marched down Westwood Avenue along with the Westwood Police Department, Westwood Ambulance Corps., and other various town organizations. The parade ended in Veteran's Park where a ceremony was held in honor of our nation's service men and women. Click here to view more photos.

New Rescue Truck update

5/24/06 - Today members were able to view the chassis of our new Rescue 17 when the manufacturers stopped by the firehouse with the truck. The truck includes a Mack Granite Series chassis with a tandem axle and 300 hp motor. The body is being built by Rescue One in Manasquan, New Jersey. It is a walk-in design that will be 23 feet long and will be capable of seating 10 firefighters. Other features include a 6000 watt light tower, 4 bottle cascade with compressor and fill enclosure, ladders, roll-up compartment doors, 30 kw PTO generator, hand and hydraulic tools.
